No chemical processes are used in the production of the baskets which are shipped by sea to minimise the carbon footprint. Because it's a natural product, the baskets are completely biodegradable or can be safely burned.

Sustainable

No intensive farming, no fertilisers (no pollution) and no unnatural irrigation is used to cultivate the non-plantation crops used to make the basket. The plants are indigenous and aren't killed when harvested.
